I need your help in the movement to cure arthritis

First off, thank you to all the people that donated last year. Because of you, I was the top fundraiser for the 2008 Mankato Arthritis Walk!

This year I have been asked to be the honoree of the Mankato Arthritis Walk. I am quite excited for the opportunity to spread the awareness of the battle with arthritis that so many people endure. When most people hear the word arthritis, they think of the pain and stiffness of the joints associated with injury or old age. That is osteoarthritis and is the most common form of arthritis, but there is also a wide range of chronic arthritis diseases that affect people of all ages. I am one of them. I have psoriatic arthritis, which is an autoimmune disease in which my immune system is actually attacking my joints and causing arthritis. At this time there is no cure. People that have psoriatic arthritis face a lifetime of managing their disease. Your donations help search for a cure and provide funding for programs dedicated to helping people manage their arthritis.

On May 2nd, at Spring Lake Park in North Mankato, I will be leading the Mankato Arthritis Walk. It will be my honor to walk for your donation. I would also like to encourage anyone to join my team and walk with me. Staying active and walking is a great way to prevent and treat all forms of arthritis.
